The star took to the stage as part of her Blue Smoke World Tour, treating fans to old classics, including Jolene, 9 to 5 and I Will Always Love You.

She also performed new material from her 42nd album, Blue Smoke.

Parton explained to the audience that her hit Jolene was penned after a woman of that name attempted to steal her then new husband Carl Dean.

The couple have now been married for 48 years, and Parton told the Belfast crowd she was "grateful" to Jolene, not only for the inspiration for the huge hit, but for the chance to take "all that money to the bank".

Parton is due to perform at The O2 in Dublin on Wednesday and Live At The Marquee in Cork on Thursday.

She will also make an appearance at this year's Glastonbury Festival on 29 June.
