Now in its fourth year, the 2014 P&O Ferries Dalriada Festival, in partnership with UTV, will feature a mix of sport, music and fine foods in the historic village of Glenarm, Co Antrim.

Events kick-off on 13 July at the Glenarm Castle grounds with the 'Champion of Champions' Highland Games.

Across two days Scotland's strongmen will return to take on the might of Northern Ireland as old scores will be settled.

Adrian Morrow, Festival Director, said: "We've got eight or ten of Scotland's finest champions who have competed in Highland Games all year and Dalriada Festival is going to be finding out who is the ultimate champion."

Country music favourite Nathan Carter will also be appearing at the Festival to headline Dalriada Live 2014 following his hugely successful appearance during last year's event.

Dalriada Live will now feature two nights of live music on 13 and 14 July, with country legend Mike Denver as the headline act for second night, along with special guests.

Across the weekend visitors will be treated to celebrity chef demos, the world's only chic sheep fashion show, a craft village and fine food.

The festivities will continue throughout the week as from 15-19 July visitors can enjoy sporting action including Super Endurocross, a beach mounted rally, Dalriada Wipeout, Kids duathalon and a fun run.

New to the festival this year is Dalriada Sessions which will feature traditional music from Haste to the Wedding, gypsy jazz swing with a twist Manouche Swing and the award winning JP Mac's The Jonny Cash and June Carter Show.

Events will come to a close on Sunday 19 July with a spectacular fireworks display, street entertainment, rowing regatta, fancy dress parade and live music.

Mr Morrow said: "What a fantastic line up we have this year at Glenarm Castle and the beautiful Glenarm Village.

"Across sport, music and food we have something for all the family... this truly is a giant of a cultural, family event."

Michael Wilson, Managing Director, UTV added: "UTV is delighted to join forces once again with the P&O Ferries Dalriada Festival in Glenarm which promises to deliver a fabulous week for all the family this July.

"We look forward to capturing the essence of the activities taking place on the North Coast of Antrim on UTV for all our viewers, with regular updates online on u.tv and interviews on U105."

The Dalriada Festival runs from 13-19 July 2014.
