The young mum says yes, but it won't be smooth sailing for the couple as her liaisons with Ryan threaten to come to light.
Actor Sam Ashton reveals it's about to get stormy for the pair.
"Things have been tough for Katy and Chesney recently; financially they have had to struggle, which puts a lot of pressure on a couple," he said.
"I think she wants a bit of excitement and I don't think they are seeing eye to eye at the minute," he said.
"Chesney does want to put things right because he knows he has been a bit moody recently and he realises that he will never do better than Katy. He thinks they have a great connection and he has thought 'right, I'm going to go to the next step and ask her to marry me.'
"Well of course she says yes!!!!" he adds.
However Katy's relationship with Ryan threatens to put a spanner in the works.
"Katy gets caught out by Gary and he feels guilty about finding out. Gary being Gary, I don't think he's going to be able to keep a lid on it," said Sam.
"There's going to be a lot of drama to come, a lot of upset, anger, all that bad stuff."
Coronation Street is on UTV on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7.30pm.
