Fresh from a stint in prison for armed robbery, Rob certainly made an entrance when he waded straight into a row between his sister and her boyfriend Peter Barlow.
Grabbing the disgruntled bookie and pinning him to the wall, Rob warned him to "learn some manners" and refused to back down.
And, according to Marc Baylis who plays him, the jailbird's relationship with his sister can be pretty fiery too.
"They've not seen each other for a few years - Rob kinda felt that she'd neglected him a little bit while he was in prison, so there's a bit of a gripe going on there," he explained.
"But they may make up, who knows."
One person who did welcome him with open arms was sister-in-law Michelle and it seems Rob will try helping out when her son Ryan also makes a return, after being kicked out of university.
Sol Heras, the new actor playing the young man, has revealed it won't all be plain sailing though.
"Rob tries to help Ryan - he can see he is in need of it, but Ryan just throws it back in his face," he said.
Michelle aside, Rob does have his charms for a few Weatherfield women though - especially when he starts putting the business classes he took in jail to use at Underworld.
"It's quite an interesting set-up with all the girls," Marc said, before throwing his hands up and laughing. "Rob might be a womaniser ..."
While barmaid Eva does fall into his sights, it looks like she won't be the only one and Marc promises he'll keep the Corrie fans on their toes.
