The darts playing sportsman, who was the oldest member of the camp, was reunited with his son on his exit.
He told Ant and Dec that although he appeared cool and calm during his Bush Tucker Trials, it was just an illusion and some did leave him feeling rather rattled.
The betting man, who previously revealed he is in line for a £50,000 cheque from the bookies after guessing that he would stay in the camp past the half way mark, admitted he was disappointed not to make the final.
He also gave his tip for the show's winner.
Eric said he believed boxer David Haye would be crowned King of the Jungle, and with a successful track record in predicting who would be voted out, Ant and Dec took his suggestion seriously.
Before his exit, Eric came into his own during a darts challenge in the camp when the celebrities had to throw darts to win 21 treats - including phone calls to friends or family.
Actress Charlie said: "It was really handy that we had a darts challenge and we had Eric Bristow, although his track record through the show hasn't been very good."
He was first up and won the team some beer, followed by David who won cheddar cheese. Ashley won a phone call home but a dejected Charlie missed the board completely.
On Eric's second turn he got coffee, while David also won coffee and sugar.
The campers agreed their two phone calls should be combined to make a four minute call, and a generous Eric suggested it could be given to Charlie.
"That will be amazing, thank you guys," exclaimed a thrilled Charlie, who had narrowly missed out meeting her daughter face to face in a previous challenge.
She had an emotional phone call with Kiki, who told her: "I miss you mummy, you are doing really well, you have lost a lot of weight, I've been watching and I can't tell you how proud I am of you."
"You are the best mummy, you will win it now, I want to be the princess of the jungle! I love you!"
Charlie said: "You will be princess of the jungle no matter what. Do you know what the Chelsea score is, don't worry I know you can't tell me. I love you, love you, love to everyone."
After the call Charlie thanked everyone for letting her take the call and jumped up and down and clapped with glee.
This year's Queen or King of the Jungle will be crowned on Saturday.
