Pop star Cheryl Cole has relived her abusive relationship with a former boyfriend after penning a song about her teenage ordeal.

Cheryl pens song about teen ordeal

Craziest Things, a duet with rapper will.i.am, features on her new album A Million Lights and includes the lyrics: 'We say the craziest things like I love you, hate you, don't need you, f*** you.'

Cole has revealed to British magazine We Love Pop the track was inspired by a real-life brutal ex she dated from the ages of 16 to 18 while living in a tough part of Newcastle, England.

She says: "I was in the worst relationship of my life. We swore, we fought, we did everything it says in that song. People think it's passionate and fun, but it's aggressive and wrong. I was depressed and poorly. I had to end it for my health."
