Olly Murs, Sean Paul and Rizzle Kicks will also be taking to the stage for the music extravaganza, which forms part of the Titanic Festival being held on Friday evening, in the ship's 100th anniversary year.

Organisers say the event is completely sold out and 16,000 fans are expected to attend.

Speaking to UTV before the gig, Olly Murs said he has had a look round the new Titanic Belfast.

"The building's amazing. I saw the bit where Kate Winslet sees Leo in his suit for the first time.

"But there was no women at the end of it to look at me and go 'aaah'," he added.

Pop's Pixie Lott is also expected onstage at Titanic Sounds and she said she has been looking forward to playing in Belfast.

"The crowds are always so amazing. They're always really lively and cheer you on and scream really loud.

"The stage is so big, the crowd's going to be really big and it's in memory of the tragedy that happened 100 years ago so it's quite a big deal, so I'm excited."

A free Metro shuttle bus service will be operating between Chichester Street in the city centre and the slipways for the gig which is expected to finish at 11pm.

Scheduled Metro services will run until the event ends and a special midnight service has also been added.

Train services are also running to the new Titanic Quarter station (formerly Bridge End) throughout the day, with extra late-night services operating after the gig.

The M3 Eastbound sliproad will be closed for the duration of the concert. Motorists are advised to seek alternative main routes for their journey.

The Titanic Sounds show will be broadcast around the world on MTV early next month.
