The first episode of the new series, which is partly filmed in Northern Ireland, will be screened for more than 500 fans at Belfast's Movie House, Dublin Road.

Free tickets for the event will be allocated on a lottery basis with the winners announced on Thursday 20 March.

Festival Director, Michele Devlin, said: "We are thrilled to be presenting this very special Game of Thrones premiere screening and are intensely proud of all the local crew and cast who contribute to the making of this highly successful series."

The eagerly anticipated fourth season, set to tackle the second half of A Storm of Swords - the third book by author George RR Martin - will return to screens across the UK on Monday 7 April.

To apply for tickets, fans can visit the Belfast Film Festival website or telephone the Festival Box Office on 028 9024 6609.
