The 15-strong dance group opened the live semi-final with another "unique twist" on classic Irish dance and were voted into the top three following a public vote.Simon Cowell's golden buzzer act Bars & Melody topped the vote, leaving Innova pitted against violin player Lettice Rowbotham for the judges' decision.While both Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden voted for the Portstewart-based group to go forward in the competition, Simon and David Walliams backed Lettice and brought the decision back to the public.Hosts Ant & Dec then declared Lettice as the next act to go through to the final.Speaking after the announcement Innova thanked everyone who had voted for them, especially those in Northern Ireland.Their opening routine saw a combination of traditional Irish dancing with a modern twist, which Alesha described as "so polished and so entertaining"."You are so strong together," she added.Amanda said: "That performance was so clean and tidy and so effortless. You have done Northern Ireland proud tonight."You have made Irish dancing cool.David Walliams to Innova Irish Dance CompanySimon was slightly less enthused, telling the group: "I felt like you needed to have a lead star for it to work, it felt like it wasn't going to go anywhere."But he later admitted he may have been wrong considering the girls were put in the top three following the results of the public vote.Lettice Rowbotham now takes her place in the final after her "avant-garde" electric violin performance.The "eccentric" star won high praise from the judges, with David telling her: "It was like nothing we have ever seen before. You have amazing stage presence.""You are just a little bundle of joy," added Alesha.Once again Simon was not overly impressed, telling her: "I loved the first half, but I didn't really like the second half of the performance. But you were one of the best acts tonight."Meanwhile Bars & Melody lived up to expectations by sailing through to the final following their own version of the hit Every Breath You Take.Charlie, 15, and Leondre, 13, won their place in the live semi-finals after Simon Cowell hit the golden buzzer following their first audition.Everytime I see you my heart just melts, I have fallen in love with you.Alesha Dixon to Bars & MelodyAfter they performed on Thursday, he told them: "I think you did amazing. The message of your song was great, you are real and it all comes from you."David said: "It was sick, it was wicked, it was hip, it was hop, it was happening."You perform with such passion and it was a really beautiful performance.""I think you are on your way to the start of something really special," added Alesha.Also impressing the judges on Thursday was illuminating dance group Light Balance, whose act Alesha described as "visually stunning", adding: "You are ahead of your time."Ant and Dec's golden buzzer act Toju received a number of laughs for his comedy routine, which David told him was "a brilliant piece of entertainment".Also performing on Thursday night was singing couple Kieran & Sarah, fire dancing group Pyroterra, singer Eva Iglesias and DJ Allan Turner-Ward.Britain's Got Talent returns to UTV on Saturday from 7pm for the remaining semi-final.
