This week in Emmerdale Val's past comes back to haunt her when an old flame appears in the village with some shocking news.

Her distracted and hostile behaviour soon arouses the suspicions of Diane and Pollard, but she does her best to block out the problem despite knowing that the truth will emerge eventually.

Sam is interrogated by the police as Declan and Charity push ahead with their plan to frame him, but Rachel smells a rat and publicly accuses the pair.

Charity attempts to scare Sam into fleeing, but an angry Declan soon realises that their scheme is failing. Meanwhile, Lisa refuses to believe that Charity would hurt family.

Ruby and Dan's sudden closeness causes tongues to wag, and when Kerry blabs about the baby plans, they have no choice but to tell Amelia and Sean the good news that Ruby is expecting.

But tragedy strikes as Ruby loses the baby, but she is comforted by the kids' kind words and Ali and Dan's determination to try again.

Alicia decides to contact Leyla but is shocked to find that her sister is working in a strip club (This is like a Harold Robbins novel!!!).

The pair get arrested during a raid on the club and finish up in police cells! Once freed they return to the village together, but David makes it clear that he does not want Leyla around.
Meanwhile Priya tries to cover up a worrying eating disorder by blaming morning sickness.

Over in Weatherfield........................

Peter Barlow plays with Tina's emotions again as their attraction brings them together. However, observing the ease with which Peter lies through his teeth to Carla, Tina is disgusted and gives him an ultimatum - she WILL stay in Weatherfield if he tells Carla the truth!

As we all know, Peter, being a lying, cheating, two timing, bigamist alcoholic would not be well acquainted with the truth if it jumped up and took a chuck out of his left buttock, and as he struggles to contain his distress, Carla becomes suspicious!

Meanwhile, a pregnancy scare leaves Michelle concerned but Steve seems quite excited, then when she suggests that he have a vasectomy to avoid any future uncertainty, he is absolutely horrified!

Back together in the family home, Kylie and David do their best to get back to normal, despite feeling awkward around each other. Kylie is really worried about her career prospects, but David has some ideas! (Bottle washing, or scrubbing out toilets perhaps?)

Of course Gail's constant presence in the house is proving awkward, and the couple poke fun at her by leaving a cheeky list of criticisms for her to find.

Over in the knicker factory a furious Carla gives Beth her cards.

Lloyd is excited when Steve's friend Andrea reappears on the scene.

Poor Roy is alarmed when Hayley loses her appetite, very aware that this is a sign of her health deteriorating. Fiz and Tyrone do their best to help by offering a selection of foods to try. After strawberries seem to revive her appetite, Roy goes to extreme lengths to obtain supplies.

Maria and Marcus start house hunting, and Jason and his dad Tony get to know each other better!

And wait till we all see the ructions that last sentence leads to as 2014 transpires!!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!
