The week begins in the Yorkshire dales with Katie coming home from hospital and she is well and truly thrown when Declan tells her that Megan is back.

Oh, and the nut nosed Robbie will be returning too!

Gennie pays a visit and Katie confides in her that she is not sure if she loves Declan any more.
Paddy is not best pleased when Rhona hires a new locum, her friend Vanessa (hold on to your hollyhocks!!!)

Meanwhile, poor Edna is devastated to learn that her Tootsie has cancer, and her problems get worse when Rodney brings her the takings from the auction and apologises that there isn't more!

The arrival of her new credit card brings some respite but she feels very guilty about using it to pay the vet bills.

Gennie and Debbie fall out when Debbie refuses to testify in Chas' defence, later deciding to appear as a witness for the prosecution in spite of Cameron's pleas!

David has to break it to Jacob that Alicia may not be home for Christmas but then Priya dumps him, saying that she cannot be the cause of a family break up.

At the church, the rehearsals for the nativity play are under way with Rachael hoping that Amelia will get the part of Mary. Of course this sparks off a slagging match with Charity, which triggers Rachael's waters to break!

She is rushed into hospital (thank goodness Katie has freed up that cubicle) where she gives birth to a baby boy but the child is silent and has to be placed in an incubator.

Worried that he may not pull through, Rachel asks Jude to christen him.

Meanwhile, Bernice is stunned when Diane refuses to have Steve staying at the pub.

And Alex is about to be made homeless, but Edna steps in and offers him a room!

Meanwhile over in Weatherfield, despite Eva's efforts to sabotage their plans, Leanne, Nick, and wee Simon prepare to depart for their trip to the U S of A!..............BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess who appears out of nowhere????????????

Peter and Carla arrive and throw all their plans into disarray.

Leanne calls off the whole trip for wee Simon's sake, and Nick rearranges their planned wedding for Christmas day.

Carla and Peter's plan for a brief visit to Weatherfield go totally awry as Simon begs Peter to stay.

Unable to cope with the whole prospect of returning permanently, living on cobbled streets, and battling against all the hell of our winter weather, Carla hits the bottle bigtime and causes chaos in her drunken wake!!!

Then, determined that she is going to return to Los Angeles, Carla books a flight for herself and Peter but when wee Simon turns up at the airport, Peter is faced with a difficult choice!

Meanwhile, David and Kylie's marriage is on the rocks and at breaking point after he spends the night on Tina's sofa.

Mandy attempts to kick-start Stella's love life, setting her up on a blind date.

Of course, a jealous Karl tries to win Stella back, but Jason "distracts" her, legs are flung to the moon and Stella's perfectly manicured toe nails have to be prized out of her headboard in the morning!!!

Dennis and Steve's feud escalates too.

Still plotting against Kirsty, Tyrone struggles to play the loving fiancé, and Chesney begins to suspect something when Tyrone helps out his supposedly estranged friend Fiz with a new job!
