First and foremost, let's get it out of the way that Ray Quinn is as good solo as he is with his partner.
No surprise there really as it would seem he could perform a faultless routine blindfolded and on gravel.
Then there was poor Beth Tweddle who had been battling illness all week, so praise must offered to her for merely managing to put on her skates.
But while most of us would take to our beds with a hot water bottle and a DVD boxset, the Olympian persevered and even managed keep smiling when Jason Gardiner criticised her performance.
Sam Attwater was a surprise as he shined on the ice without his partner and fiancée Vicky.
Following a few forgettable weeks for the actor it was nice to have him remind the audience that was actually once a Dancing On Ice champion.
Unfortunately it didn't do him much good in the end as he still ended up in the skate-off.
Hayley Tamaddon was a surprise for all the wrong reasons as she looked lost without her beloved partner Dan.
The actress usually brings a real performance to the ice, but sadly there was something missing from her solo routine...it was Dan...
And finally, poor Kyran Bracken!
He gives his best performance of the series but the voting public and the judges decided his time was up.
But this is the nature of the competition and Kyran seemed pleased to be leaving on a high note.
During his parting words on Sunday the former rugby player warned that the champion of champions had not yet been decided.
On the one hand he could be right, considering both Hayley and Beth were voted through despite clearly being the bottom two in terms of their performance.
But on the other hand there is such a buzz surrounding Ray at this point, it seems he is the likely option.
There's now two weeks left until the final and no matter what happens there is one thing we all must get excited about.
The return of Todd Carty!
