Love for Luke

When the 10 X Factor finalists were revealed at Judges' Houses Luke Friend was not expected to make a huge splash in the competition.

His trademark dreadlocks were seemingly the only point of interest the singer had to offer and while his subsequent performances in the live shows were good, everyone was too busy being in awe of Sam Bailey to take much notice of him.

Even his own mentor Louis Walsh recently commented that if he had to choose between Luke and fellow Boys category hopeful Nicholas McDonald, he would tip Nicholas as the winner.

Bit harsh Louis.

But as the weeks have past it was Luke who was tipped as the "dark horse" we are often told to expect.

His rendition of One Direction's What Makes You Beautiful during the show's 10th birthday celebrations was what pushed fans to take notice and his performances on Saturday's show wowed both Judges and viewers.

Yet he still ended up in the bottom two.

Is it fair to say that at this stage in the competition, viewers have already made up their minds as to who they want to win?

Is it too late for Luke?

I'm gonna jump on the Luke bandwagon and say I hope not.

Even Louis has changed his mind and come to realise the potential Luke has to offer and we'll soon find out if the voting public will do the same.

And while everyone is expecting Sam Bailey to be announced as the winner of the X Factor 2013, wouldn't it be great if Luke Friend caused upset in proceedings and took the crown in the last moment.

His 'save me' performance during Sunday's results show was truly amazing and if Christopher Maloney can make it to the X Factor final, I would like to think Luke could manage the same!
