Dancing On Ice viewers were treated to the return of the ice duel this week as the celebrities were put head-to-head with their nearest rival for the much sought after prize of immunity from the public vote.
Pitting the celebs against each other in this way not only mixes up the format of the show, but it also offers an insight into the dynamics of the contestants.
Kyran and Sam's all out battle showed exactly what the duels are expected to - they enjoyed working together but this is war!
I think it is safe to say there was no real difference in their ability and Kyran's victory was more than likely due to some ice skating technicality that we don't understand, but judges Robin and Karen like to mention now and again.
This may be more for the benefit of their fellow panellists Ashley and Jason. Gotta keep showing them who's boss!
Sam, understandably, looked pretty disappointed with the result and I can't help but think the actor is longing for the glory days of 2011 when he was the main man and Ray Quinn was nowhere in sight.
Bonnie and Gareth's duel was something different altogether as it was more of a party of cuteness on ice.
There was no fighting to be witnessed in this routine because they love each other so much and just wanted to dance on sunshine and rainbows!
Hayley and Beth were up next and their routine highlighted two things.
One - Beth is snoozing her way through this competition.
And two - Hayley may well be the most underestimated celebrity on the ice.
The final duel was the one to watch as frontrunners Ray and Suzanne arrived to show the rest how it is done.
I can almost feel Suzanne's frustration because she is absolutely amazing on the ice...but she will never be as good as Ray.
Their battle was a fantastic display of what the final series of Dancing On Ice is all about, celebrities can be talented!
In the end it was Bonnie who would be the latest evictee from the ice following a skate-off with Sam (and he was not happy to be there.)
Her parting words were that she regarded her return as a celebration, not a competition, and she has had a lovely time.
Tell that to Sam. He's really not happy.
