A league of his own

Ray Quinn earned a perfect score from the Dancing On Ice judges on Sunday, which suggests the winner of the champion of champions title has already been decided - or has it?

The live show was filled with great performances from all the celebrities this week, as each took to the ice and achieved their series best.

Sam Attwater appeared to be out of his slump and reached the height that was initially expected of him, while Beth Tweddle finally reminded the judges that she was actually in the competition.

Even Jason Gardiner was impressed with each of them and that is not easily achieved.

But while each contestant offered their best and high scores were given as a reward, Ray arrived to perform his flamenco inspired routine with professional partner Maria Filippov.

The little Scouser finished Sunday's show with a faultless performance that had the judges on their feet and possibly his fellow contestants thinking "oh well..."

The question now is can he maintain his reign, or will his impressive skating skills inspire the other celebs to up their game.

It was a bit of a quiet week for Suzanne Shaw who has so far been Ray's nearest rival.

Bonnie Langford may very well be the loveliest woman on the planet but I don't think she can expect to make it much further in the competition, and Gareth Gates, as 'street' as he is, may soon be doing his lap of honour.

A fire has been lit under Sam and Beth, but is it too late for both of them?

I would have said Kyran was a contender but his presence in Sunday's skate-off has cast doubt on that thought.

And there is a slight glimmer of hope for Hayley Tammadon, who enjoyed a brief moment at the top of the leaderboard before Ray made an appearance, so maybe she is the one to surprise us all.

I would like to see one of the celebrities come out and throw a spanner in the works.

Make Ray work for it!

Bless them, they are trying.
