Portadown beat Ballinamallard United 1-0 on Friday night at Ferney Park.
Twigg scored after 60 minutes to put his side in the lead.
The clash was the only Irish Premier League match to be played on the night as three others were called off, due to the impact of the recent inclement weather on the pitches.
Dungannon Swifts were due to play Linfield, Glentoran should have been playing Glenavon and Ballymena United were set to go up against Donegal Celtic.
But, following inspections, all three host venues have been confirmed as unplayable.
The combination of recent snow melting and further heavy rain has left the pitches at Stangmore Park, the Oval and Ballymena Showgrounds waterlogged.
The postponed fixtures will be rearranged in due course.
