A man has been hijacked in his car by a man armed with a gun in North Belfast.
The incident happened on the Ligoniel Road on Thursday at around 5pm.
The male driver was sitting in his car when an armed man got into the passenger seat and forced him to drive to the Elmfield Street area.
On arrival, two other men appeared and the man was threatened to get out of the vehicle.
The car, a silver-coloured Ford Mondeo, was found burned out in the Jamaica Street area of the city at approximately 9.30pm.
SDLP North Belfast MLA Alban Maginness condemned the incident and urged anyone with information to come forward.
He said: "My initial thoughts are with the victim of this car-jacking after what must have been an extremely traumatising experience. Gun crime, unfortunately, is still present in our society."
Anyone with information is asked to contact PSNI.
