Smoke sparks airport emergency

Smoke in the cockpit of a plane preparing for take off at George Belfast Belfast City Airport sparked a full emergency on Wednesday morning.

The Flybe aircraft was taxiing prior to take off around 10am when the pilot reported the problem.

An airport spokesperson told UTV all passengers had disembarked safely and boarded another flight to their destination.

An investigation is now underway to find out what caused the problem.
