TODAY:Bright with sunny intervals and snow showers, heaviest and most frequent in the north and west, giving slight to moderate falls, even on low ground away form the north coast. Strong to gale westerly winds, causing drifting on high ground. Maximum temperature 5 deg C (41 deg F).
TONIGHT:Clear intervals and snow showers, perhaps merging into longer spells of snow, with further slight or moderate falls and drifting in the strong westerly winds. Widespread frost with icy patches. Minimum temperature -3 deg C (27 deg F).
THURSDAY:Another bright day with wintry showers, again heaviest and most frequent in the north, but turning to train and sleet at lower levels. Strong west to northwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 4 deg C (39 deg F).
OUTLOOK FOR FRIDAY TO SUNDAY:Further wintry showers on Friday, but sleet or rain on low ground, then turning much colder over the weekend as winds turn northerly, with snow showers, most frequent in north.
