Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington will keep a close eye on striker Liam Boyce following his dream move to Werder Bremen from Cliftonville.
Boyce, 19, ends a whirlwind week by starting for the under-21 side on Friday night in their European Championship qualifier against San Marino at the Showgrounds, Coleraine.
Worthington said: "It is a terrific move for the young lad.
"I am delighted for him and I hope he takes full advantage.
"Liam is a big, strong boy and he can score goals.
"Hopefully with training every day he will become a little bit leaner in his body shape and obviously fitter. It is good for him - and hopefully one day it will be good for us."
Under-21 manager Steve Beaglehole, Leicester's Academy coach, has applauded the player for moving to Germany.
He said: "Not everyone of his age would do that and it is to his credit he was keen to go.
"I am delighted for Liam.
"It could be the making of him.
"I know one or two clubs in England were looking at him but nothing came of it.
"Liam will get a great football education in Bremen.
"They have invested in raw potential.
"He can be anything he wants to be."
Northern Ireland are playing for pride in the group and looking to complete the double over San Marino after failing to qualify.
Beaglehole added: "They sat in there in the last game and stayed on the halfway line.
"I expect the same again this time and we will have to break them down."
