Laverty, who rides for the Aprillia team, finished second in race one at Phillip Island behind team-mate Sylvain Guintoli.
He then went one better in race two, beating the Frenchman to take the chequered flag and secure a double one-two for his team.
The result leaves the Toomebridge rider in a tie for first place on 45 points, ahead of the next round of racing at Aragon in Spain on 14 April.
