Pienaar has been the talk of local cricket this season since showcasing his remarkable talents with an explosive innings of 244 against CIYMS.

His remarkable total came off just 111 balls and contained 22 sixes and 13 fours.

Many have been treated to what has become known as the 'Obi show' and his talents will be sorely missed in the second half of the season with Waringstown currently challenging for four trophies.

Obus commented: "I have enjoyed my cricket here with Waringstown, but this tour means a lot to me it is something I always wanted. It is unlikely I will return this season but I definitely want to come back."

Meanwhile Ireland vice captain Trent Johnson expressed his delight and that of the players that Ireland have the opportunity to qualify for the 2015 World Cup after the ICC overturned their original decision and extended it to a 14 team tournament.

"This is great news and what we have been campaigning for," he said.

"Now we have the chance for the developing players to have a target to aim for. On a personal level I am also delighted as the tournament is in my native Australia and New Zealand, but whether the body will last that long is another story!"

One of Ireland's most talented young cricketers was also back home to play in the Bob Kerr Irish Senior Cup at the weekend.

George Dockrell, who this year has joined the growing band of local talent plying their trade on the English county circuit, confirmed to UTV that his immediate future lay with Ireland.

He said: "After the ICC decision I am looking forward to helping Ireland qualify for the 2015 World Cup, this is great news. At the minute I am completely focused on my Ireland career."

Dockrell also confirmed that he is now fully recovered from his shoulder injury and is enjoying trying to establish himself in the Somerset team.

One of Ireland's longest serving internationals also confirmed to UTV that he will have to make some personal decisions on how long his international career continues.

Andrew White said he is as committed as ever to playing for Ireland but on his chances of appearing in the 2015 finals if Ireland are there.

He said: "It is all dependent on form and the tournament is still a long way off and with a baby on the way I will have to sit down with my family and see what the future holds."
