Ulster Coach Brian McLaughlin has included Paddy Wallace and Willie Fallon in the 27- man panel to face Edinburgh although both players are injured.
Wallace has failed to shake off a knock that he aggravated on the hard pitch during the 15-10 win over Munster.
His ankle injury suffered in South Africa in November was made worse on the frozen surface at Ravenhill, but Wallace is confident he will be fit.
Faloon continues to struggle with a shoulder problem ahead of the Heineken Cup game on Friday.
The break in the cold snap has officials at the club confident that the match will go ahead with the surface having been covered and constant work from the ground staff and even the players to get snow off the pitch.
Kick off on Friday night in Belfast is at 8pm.
