Ulster and Ireland International Paddy Wallace is fit to play in the Heineken Cup against Edinburgh on Friday.
Two changes have been made to the starting XV, from the team that gained victory over Munster earlier this month.
Wallace has shaken off an ankle injury and will be joined by Darren Cave who comes in for Ian Whitten.
Willie Faloon has failed to overcome a shoulder injury, as David Pollock starts as open side flanker for Ulster's final home pool game of this season's Heineken Cup.
Friday night's game at Ravenhill is a must win game if Ulster are to have any hope of progressing in the tournament.
"We've got to play from first whistle to final whistle. We've got to take the opportunities when they arise", Coach Brian McLaughlin said.
"The fact that qualification is still within our grasp makes it an even bigger game, and the players know that. I'm very hopeful we'll get a top class performance out of them on Friday night."
Edinburgh's last-eight hopes rest on them not only winning in Belfast, but then beating Pool Four top dogs Stade Francais at Murrayfield on Saturday week.
"Make no mistake about it, there is still a lot to play for", Scotland star Chris Paterson said.
"We know we have performed poorly away from home, so we need to sort that out, and an away win on Friday would be like gold dust."
Only runaway Pool Two leaders Biarritz confident of securing a quarter-final place.
