Stephen Ferris, Rory Best, Tom Court and Andrew Trimble all return to the squad, having missed the win over Munster at the weekend because of their involvement in an Ireland training camp.

Fellow Irish International Paddy Wallace has recovered from tendon damage to his thumb and is fit enough to be named in the provisional 35 man squad.

Ulster have lost only one of their last five matches in all competitions, that came at the RDS on Boxing Day with a 13-42 loss to Leinster.

Ulster Coach Brian McLaughlin said he was pleased with the results over Christmas.

He said: "To have Leinster away and then Munster at home and to end up with five points, I'd have taken that at the start.

"The Munster game, in the second half especially, we played exceptionally well. That's not taking anything away from the young fellows who played well against Leinster earlier in the week. The result flattered Leinster, but it allowed us to get the result against Munster."

Declan Fitzpatrick, Jared Payne, Nevin Spence, Paddy McAllister, Michael McComish and Peter Nelson are all unavailable due to injury.

This past weekend was a massive one in both rugby and in football as both Leinster and Chelsea became European Champions.
