Ulster coach Brian McLaugnlin applauds his players
Ulster have missed out on a last four place in the Amlin Challenge Cup, after a series of results went against them.

The last places went to Cardiff, Gloucester and the Scarlets, thanks to bonus point wins.

Brian McLaughlin's side beat Bath on Saturday to finish second in Pool 4 which left them second in Pool Four to Stade Francais.

However this result was not enough, as the Cardiff Blues beat Harlequins and Gloucester defeated the Dragons to take their place in the competition.

The Ulster head coach has said that everyone involved in the squad was "absolutely gutted".

"We are really disappointed. But we can still look back at a good campaign in Europe, one of the best probably for a few seasons," he told the Newsletter.
