Two late tries from Henry Slade and Matt Jess gave the visitors a 22-21 win.

Ulster led at half time thanks to touchdowns from Rory Scholes and Louis Ludik, after Jess had scored the opener for Exeter.

Garth Steenson reduced the home side's advantage to 14-8 with a penalty after the restart, before Scholes used his pace to reach the line for his second try of the match.

Ulster were in front until the 74th minute when Slade scored a converted try. It was followed two minutes later by another from Jess, as the Chiefs clinched victory.

Les Kiss's side will face Scarlets in their first match of the Pro12 season on Saturday 6 September.
