University of Ulster Jordanstown enjoyed a single point victory over Queen's University Belfast in Wednesday's Sigerson Cup second round clash.
Queen's took a comfortable lead after Shaun O'Neill took advantage of some poor goalkeeping to put QUB into a 1-3 to 0-0 lead in the first ten minutes. James Keilt then added a further six points to take them into the break with a comfortable 1-7 to 0-5 lead.
The Jordanstown team that emerged for the second half bore little resemblance to that of the first half and it was Conor McManus who pulled the sides level before Jamie Clarke put the ball in the back of the net from the spot to edge UUJ into a slim lead.
There was more poor Jordanstown goalkeeping on show as they gifted Queen's with a quick reply as O'Neill scored his second goal five minutes from the end, only for Jordanstown to hit back with three unanswered points.
UUJ will now face NUI Maynooth in the last eight on 17 February.
