Belfast's Titanic Quarter has been revealed as the venue for boxer Carl Frampton's forthcoming world title fight against Spain's Kiko Martínez.

Tuesday's announcement was made by Cyclone Promotions at a press conference at Titanic Belfast.

"We're going to build a purpose-built arena out on the slipway," promoter Barry McGuigan explained to UTV.

"It's going to be spectacular in the shadow of Samson and Goliath."

Tensions will rise as the fight gets closer. It'll be a bit more heated next time we see each other.

Carl Frampton

Frampton and Martínez were both present for the venue confirmation, coming face-to-face for the first time since their clash for the European belt at the Odyssey Arena back in February last year.

On that occasion, Frampton KO'ed his opponent in the ninth round.

Martínez claims that was just the result of a "bad day" and that things will be very different when they next meet on 6 September, with the IBF super-bantamweight title on the line.

Speaking via a translator, he said: "I think that Frampton's a great fighter, a great athlete - but I haven't seen him improve in his last fights.

"He's been spoiled and he's going to pay for that on 6 September."

I hope God gives me health and I'll put in the rest.

Kiko Martínez

But according to the Jackal, the only difference will be that he'll knock him out quicker.

"Although he's the champion, I've already beaten him," Frampton said.

"I think Kiko's the best fighter that I've fought - I think it's again going to be a tough fight, but I've already dealt with everything he's got."

Frampton's first shot at a world title was announced last month, when he spoke to UTV about Martínez and said: "He's coming to my backyard ... He's not going home with the title. No way."

Tickets for the big event are set to go on sale this Saturday.

All the very best CF. You are indeed an awesome talent and it will be good to see you lifting a belt in the shadow of S&G in the docks.
