Manager Alan MCDonald criticised his strikers after the side were held to a goalless draw against Dungannon Swifts on Tuesday night, saying their goal tally was nowhere near good enough.
Hamilton said Glens strikers needed to score more goals but insisted they have only been getting "one or two chances" a game between them.
"Nobody likes to receive criticism in any way, shape or form. But I've been about the game long enough to know that you have to accept it and analyse your own game and see where you're going wrong. I'm one of my biggest critics," he told UTV.
"I haven't scored enough goals. I haven't done the job which strikers are paid to do. That's scoring goals."
"But are we creating enough chances every game? Hamilton asked.
"The rest of the players have the responsibility as wingers or midfielders to assist and help people score goals."
Following Tuesday's draw, McDonald also said he will be looking for new players in the January transfer window and hinted that there may be changes in personnel.
"If he wants to bring in players to make the club better, it's his decision," Hamilton continued.
"I wanna be here and I wanna fight for the cause and I wanna score goals.
"At the end of the day, the manager decides if he wants rid of me... as a player you want to play football and hopefully it'll never come to that."
Under-pressure Glentoran travel to Institute on Saturday hoping to put in a good performance.
"We know we have the ability to give it a good push to win the league again this season. That's our goal this season. We wanna be part of history and hopefully retain the title," Hamilton said.
