The Connacht fly-half moved from Ravenhill last summer, but with Ian Humphreys leaving Ulster to move to London Irish, there is speculation the Limavady man could now make the return trip.

South African duo Rob Herring and Jacques Botes are also being touted for moves to Ulster.

Herring currently plays with Western Province in South Africa.

Botes could fill the gap vacated by the departure of Pedrie Wannenburg, with Ulster also scouting around for another hooker after Andy Kyriacou agreed a switch to the Cardiff Blues.
