Speaking on Monday at the Belfast Telegraph Sports Awards where he picked up the title of coach of the year, Rodgers said Donnelly had been settling in well.
The 19-year-old former Cliftonville player made his debut for Swansea's reserve team last week.
Brendan Rodgers said: "I think he has a great personality on the field. He has wonderful touch on the ball and for me he has that natural instinct to get a goal.

"I've already seen it in training, you know, he might not get the ball and then he makes a finish and in the shooting practises afterwards he's either winning it or getting close to it.
"Once his body matures he'll really develop into a good player," he said.
Experts are predicting that Donnelly could well feature in the Northern Ireland set up under new manager Michael O'Neill as prepares for the upcoming friendly against Norway.
