Celtic have completed the signing of Robbie Keane on loan from Tottenham until the end of the season, the SPL club have confirmed on their website.
The Republic of Ireland striker Keane joins his boyhood idols after falling out of favour at White Hart Lane.
His position at Tottenham had been in doubt following the arrival of Eidur Gudjohnsen last week and manager Harry Redknapp's decision to keep hold of Roman Pavlyuchenko.
The decision is a massive coup for Celtic, who Keane supported as a youngster, as the striker only signed for Spurs this time last year.
Hailing the transfer as a "good move", Redknapp said Keane needed to play first-team football he could no longer offer him.
"Robbie wants to play and I have (Peter) Crouch, (Jermain) Defoe and Pavlyuchenko and I signed Gudjohnsen so it will be difficult to guarantee him a starting place and he has to be playing regularly so I have decided to let him go on loan until the end of the season," Redknapp told Sky Sports News.
The 29-year-old is Tony Mowbray's eighth capture in the last month and is by far the most high profile.
The transfer window for Scottish clubs closes at midnight.
