It is understood that Keane could be in line to serve as Paul Lambert's assistant, following Ian Culverhouse's dismissal following an internal investigation at the Villa Park club.

Lambert is believed to have indicated that he would be happy for Keane to continue to serve as Martin O'Neill's assistant at international level if it took up the post.

It comes after Keane ruled himself out of the running when it comes to finding a replacement for Lurgan-born Celtic manager Neil Lennon.

The former Manchester United player has also made the decision not to serve as a World Cup pundit for ITV, in order to focus on his coaching career.

We're not sure what Bulletproof Wings are, but apparently Warren Feeney has a pair. If this week's results are anything to by, he might just need them.
