Liam Boyce scored a brace as Cliftonville eased to victory at a foggy Mourneview Park.
Cliftonville 2 - 0 Glenavon
Cliftonville took a 24th minute lead as Glenavon were trying to break away.
New signing Peter Hutton won possession, cleared the ball up the line to Chris Scannell and his square ball in the box found youngster Boyce wanting to send the ball past Andrew Plummer.
It was all Cliftonville in the first half with George McMullan having a long range effort tipped over, another shot parried into the path of Boyce only for Plummer to recover and crossing for a Peter Hutton header which went over.
Glenavon's only chance of the first half came through Hugh Dickson who headed straight at John Connolly from Barry Johnston's free kick.
The hosts started the second half brightly through a chance for Molloy but that was as good as it got for Glenavon who failed to test Cliftonville for the rest of the game and spent most of the rest of it stuck in their own half.
They should have gone 2-0 up through Chris Scannell but he somehow managed to miss from close range when through on goal with Plummer.
That second goal did come on 74 minutes when a McMullan free kick came to Boyce who took a touch and had a crack at goal.
Willo McDonagh stuck a foot out to clear the shot but only ended up helping it into the net with a deflection.
