After interest from several clubs, the 31-year-old has joined the Ports on a two-year contract.

Gault was released by new Linfield boss Warren Feeney last week after failing to agree a new contract.

He'll join up with former Blues teammate Robert Garrett in the midfield at Shamrock Park.

Matthew Tipton, Mark McAllister, Kyle McVey and James Knowles were also let go by Feeney.

Tipton signed a one year deal on Tuesday night with Ballymena United.
