Paddy McLaughlin sees red during Friday night’s match.
Portadown took the sixth league spot from Coleraine after a 3-1 televised victory over their nine man rivals at Shamrock Park on Friday.

Portadown 3-1 Coleraine

Kevin Braniff opened the scoring for Portadown in the sixth minute, but Darren Boyce equalised for Coleraine with a back post header within two minutes of the restart.

Paddy McLoughlin chopped Jordan Baker down at the edge of the box and was sent off with a red card in the first incident of the evening.

Baker dispatched a loose ball inside the Coleraine penalty area in the 28th minute after keeper Davy O'Hare spilled a Mouncey effort.

After the break, the Coleraine keeper received a straight red in the 69th minute for elbowing Baker in the back.

Gary McCutcheon fired home the penalty past stand-in keeper Darren Boyce.

Despite their numerical advantage the Ports couldn't manage to further extend their lead.

Portadown is now in front of Coleraine on goal difference in the battle to seal a place in the top six.

On Twitter, Coleraine FC hit out at the "appalling decisions by the referee" which "ruined" the game.
