Portadown 1 - 0 Crusaders

The replay failed to spark into life until the closing stages as a foul on Alan Teggart provided the Ports with a chance to settle the match in normal time.

Ross Redmans free-kick delivery from wide on the left connected with the outstretched arm of McBride as the defender jumped leading to a penalty kick which Braniff tucked away with ease.

Crusaders enjoyed the upper hand for the majority of the tie, with Ross Arthurs a particular threat, although both sets of players struggled to develop any passing rhythm.

Arthurs slipped a pass behind the Portadown defence early on but David Miskelly rushed out to block the path of Jordan Owens. Arthurs then displayed neat control on the edge of the box but his shot bounced off the frame of the goal.

Arthurs and Owens both failed to find the target from promising positions as Crusaders pressed in search of an opening goal.

Andy Hunter, a former Crusaders favourite, stepped up to block Owens' effort from inside the penalty box - following an attempted punch by Miskelly - which dropped short late in the half.

The Crusaders pressure continued in the second half when Chris Morrow, Ryan McCann and Owens each came close to scoring.

A golden opportunity arrived on the hour mark as Arthurs danced a path into the penalty area and picked out Martin Donnelly, but the wingers shot bounced off the bar and Redman managed to stop Owens from converting the rebound.

However, Portadown created the games decisive moment on 82 minutes and the final whistle signalled another last-four Irish Cup appearance for the Shamrock Park club.
