John O'Neill has resigned as Fermanagh Senior Football manager after just 12 months in charge.

O'Neill stepped down following a review into a disastrous six month period for the Erne County, which saw a host of senior players quit the panel in protest at training conditions.

O'Neill's last competitive game in charge saw Fermanagh knocked out of the All-Ireland Championship by London.

The Fermanagh County Board issued a brief statement on Monday night, confirming O'Neill's decision.

"CLG Fhear Manach was informed tonight by John O'Neill that he has resigned from the position of senior football team manager.

"CLG Fhear Manach would like to extend gratitude and appreciation to John O'Neill and his backroom team for their work with the county panel throughout what was a difficult year for gaelic football in Fermanagh.

"CLG Fhear Manach wish John and his management team every success in the future."
