Belfast fighter Kevin Sweet Pea O'Hara has failed in his bid to land the British super-featherweight title.

The 28-year-old lost a unanimous points decision to the defending champion Gary Sykes in Huddersfield on Friday night.

Sykes, who won the vacant title against Andy Morris in March, took a while to get warmed up in the early rounds against O'Hara.

However, he found his form as the fight wore on with his body attacks proving to be particularly successful.

As O'Hara began to tire, Sykes picked him off from range en route to a comprehensive win.

One of the judges scored the fight 119-109 while the other two came back with scorecards of 118-111.
