Northern Ireland boss Nigel Worthington has denied having any official contact with Sheffield Wednesday, but confirmed his declared interest in the club's vacant manager position.

The Hillsborough club parted company with Brian Laws after dropping into the Championship relegation zone and are without a win in nine games following their 3-0 defeat to Leicester City at the weekend.
"There has been no contact. I haven't applied for the position in any way, shape or form", Worthington told UTV.
The 48-year old has days left to discuss a new contract with the IFA as Northern Ireland boss.
On Wednesday, he attended the JJB Sports Irish Cup Fifth Round Draw held at The Opera House in Belfast, along with IFA President Raymond Kennedy.
Mr Kennedy said several people had already contacted him about becoming Northern Ireland manager if Nigel Worthington was to leave for Sheffield Wednesday.
"Over a period of time people have been saying if this ever became vacant I might be interested", the IFA president told UTV.
"I am sure if the job was vacant tomorrow there would be a host of people rolling in."
But Worthington insisted talks with the IFA were still "ongoing".
He said he still hoped for a "positive" outcome and described media reports that the talks had stalled as "unfair".
"What was disappointed from my point of view was that information came out from the (initial) meeting", he said.
"If it's right between myself and the association we can move forward. If it's not right then I'll move on. They can move on and we go our separate ways", he added.
Although in Belfast for the day, Worthington said it was "highly unlikely" contract talks would be held as "time schedule is pretty tight."
