Newry City Football Club chairman Paul McKenna has denied interfering in team selection while Gerry Flynn was manager.
Flynn stepped down as manager earlier this week due to "things going on behind the scenes", and McKenna has said that the two men have had disagreements.
McKenna said he merely discussed first-team matters with Flynn - who felt he had no option but to resign.
Several first-team players have requested a chance to talk to the board over the issue.
