Paudie McKenna, Clontibret's Conor Boyle and Ballybay's Thomas Kerr are amongst those who have been handed their first call-up.

The other new additions are Damien Lavelle, Jonathan McGuigan, Shane Carey and Daniel McMahon.

They will get their chance to impress manager Malachy O'Rourke as several senior players, such as Drew Wylie, Colin Walshe and Kieran Hughes, will miss the New Year tournament.

Elsewhere Fermanagh will go into the competition without Damien Kelly and Daryl Keenan of Tempo. They have told new boss Peter McGrath they are unable to commit to the panel, owing to work duties.

Donegal have a strong panel, with Jim McGuinness naming 16 of his 2012 All-Ireland winning squad.

They open their McKenna Cup on 5 January at Letterkenny against Tyrone.
