The 17-year old started in Boston alongside established names like Jamie Carragher and Joe Cole, after new manager Brendan Rodgers invited him to join the seniors on their US tour.
The side lost out 2-1 in their friendly against Roma.
McLaughlin, an ex-Glenavon full-back, signed a three-year Anfield deal in 2011.
