The South African was withdrawn from the contest early in the second half after picking up an arm injury.
A subsequent x-ray confirmed that Muller had suffered an undisplaced fracture of his radius bone.
The injury means Muller is likely to be out until the beginning of February, meaning he will almost certainly miss the rest of Ulster's Pool games in the Heineken Cup.
Mark Anscombe's side will host Northampton Saints at Ravenhill on Saturday afternoon in their final European game of 2012.
In January they will face Glasgow at home and an away trip to Castres to complete their Pool 4 campaign.
