The defender signed the contract with the Seaview club on Tuesday.

McKeown, who moved to north Belfast from Portadown in 2008, has played a key role within the club over the past four years.

The 28-year-old was also part of the Irish Cup winning Crusaders side of 2009.

Manager Stephen Baxter welcomed McKeown's commitment for another two seasons.

"This signing gives a good boost around Seaview," Baxter said. "Gareth has been with the Crues for a few years now and we are delighted to have him with us for 2 more seasons."
