The Co Down golfer, who had led the tournament in the early stages, shot an even par 72 on the final round with five birdies cancelling out his dropped shots.

The 25-year-old had led the tournament after an impressive first round 63 but dropped down the leaderboard with a six over round on day two at the Muirfield Village course.

Saturday saw the Holywood man regain his form to put him within six shots of the lead.

Japan's Hideki Matsuyama won the tournament following a playoff against Kevin Na following a dramatic final day.

The 15th place finish for the word number six comes one week after he lifted the PGA Championship at Wentworth.
