Northern Ireland golfers Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell both endured a tough week at the Honda Classic.
McDowell ended the week the better of the two players at two over par, but it could have been so much better, as the Portrush man carded a four over par 7 at the par three 17th.
Rounds of 68, 67 and 71 had him at four under going into the final round.
McDowell opened his account with back to back birdies, but a bogey at the par five third hole started to show the cracks and the Ulsterman would hand back a further two shots before the turn.
After four straight pars, another birdie on the 12th looked to have settled the ship somewhat, but McDowell would drop another two, in the next four holes.
Disaster struck on the par three 17th when he would drop four shots and fall to 31st place on the leaderboard.
Rory McIlroy played the first nine holes of his final round in level par with two birdies and two bogeys.
He dropped a shot at the tenth but recovered well to fix the damage at the par four 11th.
Pars would follow up until the final hole and Holywood man ended the day with a birdie at the par five 18th, when his approach shot finished inside five feet and he holed the put for birdie
Padraig Harrington also struggled all week in Florida finishing alongside McIlroy at four over.
Despite a strong front nine on the final day, his woes continued as he dropped four shots in four holes, over the turn.
Camillo Villegas of Columbia won the event with a wire to wire victory at 13 under par, five shots clear of Anthony Kim of America.
