Graeme McDowell sealed victory in dramatic fashion as he came from behind to beat Hunter Mahan at the WGC World Match Play Championship.

The Ulsterman clinched it on the 21st hole after recovering from two shots down with two to play to complete another great escape at Dove Mountain.

McDowell will now progress to the quarter finals where he faces Victor Dubuisson.

"It's entertaining for sure but I'd much rather have it much easier, believe me," said the Portrush golfer, who previously fought back to beat Gary Woodland and Hideki Matsuyama.

"I can't get my head around it. I was pretty sure I was beat against Gary Woodland, yesterday I thought I had a chance and today walking off the 16th green I thought I was beat again.

"The par save on the second play-off hole was just ridiculous. I can't believe it really, I have just robbed three players at this tournament and I can't believe I am still in it."
