Tony McCoy was unable to repeat his Grand National triumph of last year, having to settle for third with Don't Push It in Saturday's race.

Ballabriggs was first past the post this time after enjoying the pace at the front from the start.

Trained by Donald McCain, whose father Ginger was Red Rum's trainer, he was ridden superbly by Irish jockey Jason Maguire.

It was close at the finish and would have been a fairytale ending for Sam Whaley-Cohen on Oscar Time - he's the amateur jockey who won the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

By the final fence Tony McCoy was just a few lengths behind the leaders but could not close the gap. He and Don't Push It had to settle for third.
